Pardip Kapil Live Installation

A live installation by Pardip Kapil, marking the culmination of the artist’s three-month residency at Studio Voltaire in partnership with ActionSpace as part of the Explorers Project.
Kapil will present a large-scale installation, intertwining improvised live elements with handmade and found objects, evocative costumes, props, experimental imagery and sound. As part of the archiving process, the work will be titled after the event in order to better reflect the intentions of the live installation.
In the artist’s work, processes repeat and echo each other. Kapil often layers materials and projections to create spaces to be activated by the artist and other collaborators. Kapil is known for his colourful and joyful installations containing bricolages of found materials, incorporating sound and projection to create ritualistic and often surreal work.
Kapil’s residency is in partnership with ActionSpace and forms part of the acclaimed Explorers Project. Explorers is led by Project Art Works and is supported by Arts Council England and Paul Hamlyn Foundation.
